A Day On The Range

A while ago I wrote a post about my struggle to find “tactical” pants that were comfortable and functional.  It was loads of fun. After several weeks I finally did find a few pairs that work. More on that later, but for now, if you see this person as you are wondering around Culpeper Virginia…

My relaxed lets chat look

My hey lets head to the firing line look

it means that you have stumbled upon FPF Training and I am on the job, but if Skidmark asks, I was wearing a hat.

On the range this is what I actually would wear. Little to no make up, lots of sunscreen, my flash light, a utility knife(not shown. The hubs has it), boots, eyes(brand new eyes my hubby bought me), ears and of course, my gun.  If you look closely you can see the M&P tucked behind my left hip.

I am off for an extremely busy day.

P.S. I miss Broken Andy.

    • You know I have never had much issue with brass. Of course it has gone down my shirt, but it’s RARE and it really isn’t painful. If we have women on the range, I will let them know it might be a good idea for them to wear a high collar or button up more.

    • Hey didn’t you do a thing about pink and camo? Just asking because that looks very pink – Just making an observation.

      Arete.

    • Lol, yes I did smarty pants. My lovely husband actually picked that shirt out for me. I picked one in blue and one in black;).

I have to say, he did a good job though. I kind of liked the splash of color..

    • Thank you. Definetly a departure for me. I wear a lot of black, grey, blue..boring:). Always have. I think it is left over from my interpreter days. Lots of dark plain clothes were the uniform of the day.

  1. By this time next month, I’ll be living nearby. (Yaaaay!) I’ve bookmarked the website. I promise I’m not a stalker, but I hope to meet you soon!

  2. Dang. I’ll be sending all new shooters to you for fashion tips! Me, I’m (fashionably) hopeless. Cargo pants (extra pockets YAY!), jogging shoes (that haven’t been jogged in in years), whatever tshirt happend to end up in my hand when I made a blind grab into the closet that morning, eyes/ears, sometimes a ballcap (pretty proud of my “Spruce Goose” ballcap…need to find it for tomorrow’s range trip). No makeup either, so we have that in common. LOL

Have a great, fun, safe weekend!

  3. Looking good Girl, you need to be on the cover of a magazine.

    • The pants in the picture are made by Columbia. They are a 100% cotton…very light weight with nice big pockets in the front and 2 in the back. I don’t need all 900 pockets that are in traditional tac pants…at least not yet.

The thinner weight I think will be nice for the temps here, 105 forecasted for tomorrow. Not sure how they will hold up long term to the abuse of the range and frequent washings though. Time will tell on that.
