Final Update

I have received several requests to update my status, so here it goes.

My hubby and I finished EMT class and passed our state and national exams first time out. We precepted for 3 months. I am a released EMT and he is a released drier. We have been running as a team for the past month or so for our local rescue squad. We are learning a on and enjoying our time serving our community.

I went to the dermatologist yesterday and got the all clear on the skin cancer!!

Things are going unbelievably well here for everyone in the family. We have some very big plans for our future to which are coming along so well.

That’s about it. Except in 2 days I will closing down the blog and the FB. I have enjoyed it tremendously, but the time really is now. Many people have encouraged me to keep it up and I get emails daily asking me to come back. I have given it time, but honestly I do not enjoy it any more. I really don’t have anything of worth left to say, so this really is good bye(well in 7 days).

I hope things are going as well for all of you!!!

P.S. I reserve the right to come back if I ever find something to write about though.

  1. Congratulations to you and your husband on passing everything and riding together on the rig.

I so understand about closing down your blog. Life keeps us all busy, sometimes there’s no time to be up on the computer. Take care of yourself, I will drop you a line every now and then through e-mail to check on you and yours.

  2. We’ll miss you, but I totally understand. I go through periods of not posting just because I’m not feeling it at the time. If your blog is no longer fulfilling you, then you don’t owe it to anyone to write.

  3. DITTO on Guffaw’s comment.

    WOOHOO on the cancer!!!

You started this blog to help yourself heal. In doing so, you have touched and helped so many others. You have done a great thing and the blog will be missed.

“L” and I will stay in touch and, hopefully, we will be seeing you and TSM in the not-too-distant future.

God’s blessings on you and yours.

  4. Congrats! Great that everything is going so well!

Don’t forget to keep an eye on other blogs for gatherings of gunnies. Those of us who haven’t me you would love to.

  5. It makes me happy to hear that things are going well for you. You will be missed, but I understand. You have to do what is right for you. Don’t be a stranger!

  6. Remember, you never REALLY leave home.

    Its always inside you.

I’m so happy to hear about your status.
And I’ll miss you. You have done VERY well on this blog.
Thank you for sharing your life.

Contact me if you ever head to Richmond.
    Have a wonderful life.

  7. On to the next adventure!! Will pray it will be one of joy! Thankss for sharing so much of yourself with us all.

  8. Good to hear you passed all your EMT tests and you and TSM are now serving your community with your new found skills. As for the blog, you must do what you must. You have grown so much and come so far in your personal growth. Your story that you shared with all of us has been a good lesson for all of us and has taught us all how we can grow to take charge of our own lives and our own safety and become responsible for ourselves. Thank you so much for sharing your story with us. Your words of wisdom will be missed, but we all understand that the time comes when we all have to move on.

Take care and God bless! – tc

  9. I was afraid you would burn yourself out — you hit the ground running and ran so hard. My first year of blogging I posted a well thought out, researched, informative article three times a week. The second year I got some additional writers who posted once a month and I only posted once, or twice, a month myself. Now, with over 200 blog posts, it’s mostly just me again, posting about once a month.

But I believe it’s worth keeping the social presence and the social capital gained. So I keep it up. I’m surprised how many hits it still gets (many that come from your site). We’re getting ready to finally move to our 5-acre homestead in about a month, so I’ll have more to write about that — if I chose.

You’ve been a wonderful presence here, keep it alive, you may find you haven’t said everything yet.

  10. Oh boy am I a day late and a dollar short. But we were moving all summer – so anyhow, thanks for being a friend! See you on the flip-side!
