Tid Bits

The other day Brigid posted a lovely post followed by a recipe for Mauser Muffins. They looked so delicious that I whipped up a few batches that afternoon. TSM and I took a few to our daughter and her friends at the Field Hockey game. To say they were a hit would be an understatement.

I made them and then literally ran out the door, so the picture does not do them justice, but I am telling you, food issues or not…TRY THESE MUFFINS.

My daughter loves all the flavors of Fall, so my plan is to make another batch, but this time leave out the blueberries and add pumpkin.

I stand by everything I said in yesterday’s post about firearms safety, but I do regret being so snarky. I was feeling mighty feisty due to the attack on our Embassy and the whole being led by a wimp of a president thing. I should have ran first to settle myself and posted later.

I think MSgt. B does a fine job of illustrating the point.

Great post on the importance of doing more than simply carrying a gun.

And lastly, taking an EMT class with my hubby might not have been the best decision. The dude does not stop talking.

Instructor- Never tell a patient or their family something like, “You can always have another child.”

TSM- “Hell, they can have one of mine”.

Me- I giggle slightly.

Instructor- “If your partner or supervisor are sexually harassing you, you don’t have to put up with it. There are procedures for dealing with that kind of thing”.

TSM- “Babe, you can grab my butt anytime”.

Me- I just look at him.

Instructor-“A palmar grasp is when a person puts their finger(or anything) in a baby’s hand and the baby naturally grasps it”.

TSM- “The trick is getting them to pull it”.

Me- SHHHHHHHH!

It’s going to be a long 4 months.

  1. It’s generally pretty good advice to make any recipe that Brigid posts. 😉

These look yummy, though. I wish I wasn’t trying to drop 15 pounds …

  2. LOL Sounds like TSM and I would have to be separated during a class like that…I’d be right there making comments, too!

    Muffins look tasty!

  3. Muffins look great are they GF?
I agree with you, I’m so pissed about our Embassy’s and the loss of lives.
I have a feeling it’s going to get real ugly soon over there.
How did your daughter do with her field hockey game?

    • Yes! They are gluten and dairy free.

It most certaintly going to get very ugly.

Neither my precious daughter or her team are overly skilled. Last night’s game involved the Mercy Rule being enforced and our team was on the wrong side of that call:)

  4. Too bad we don’t live closer to each other, your husband’s humor sounds a lot my husband’s humor!

  5. I took my CPL class with hubby. He, like your TSM, has a mouth that pauses only occasionally. During most of the class, I’d be pinching him to tell him to “hush” (our pre-arranged signal….do I know this guy or what?). But, when MY BOSS was giving the legal portion of the class (easily the longest portion…he also likes to talk) I told hubby if he said ANYTHING I would just kick him. He behaved.

It is fun to go thru life with the class clown, isn’t it?!

Oh, and the bewbs and gun post…made me kinda mad. Not about what she was doing…it was stupid and we all know that. What it means it that it’s a good thing I’ve resisted the urge, after running thru a mag of 16, the urge to point the gun at about 10 o’clock and blow the puffs of smoke that are coming out the barrel. I SO wanna do that, but I won’t. I would hear you all yelling at me!

  6. The muffins look good 🙂
Goodness Gracious, I thought they broke the mold when they made my husband, I had no idea there was another one around. You have my condolences.
As for the embassy attacks, rumor has it that they’re planning something big for Friday. I hope it doesn’t pan out, and I really hope that the current administration decides to shed this wait and see BS.

  7. Was wondering why my traffic spiked up so drastically.

That happens every time a “real” blogger drops me a link.

    Thanks!
