Conversation With Arete

**Edited for brevity and some of it is personal and private, so I did not include that**

This is midway into the conversation…

A-I knew something was up. I just didn’t say anything.

Me-That would have been a helpful tid bit of information to know.

A-And what would you have said, if I asked what was wrong?

Me-I would have said nothing was wrong.

A-Exactly and then what would have happened “Miss dig my heels in and won’t budge an inch?”

Me-Not really enjoying the mental part of this training. Would rather just be able to fight.

A-Can’t have one without the other.

Me-Yeah, I know. It’s good that I figured it out for myself.

 A pause between texts

A-Did you call me an ass on your blog?

Me-Yes

A-Laughing

  1. I am sure he has been called worse during the course of his life.

Arete – tracking people down through blog post isn’t one of your skills is it???

    • ponigirl004- Yes I have been called worse. As too tracking people down I am sure if I was motivated, too really look I could, but I am just too tired and sore from all the beatings A Girl hands out to do much more than type. So you’re safe, but thanks for asking.

      Arete

  2. Question – you are training with two different trainers correct? One for shooting and one for personal hand to hand. Do you ever get conflicting advise and if so how do you reconcile that?

    • Ha..ok, let’s try this again.

I try to go to as much training as possible and I try to get a well rounded resume, so I take courses all over from a variety of folks, but yes primarily I work with John and Arete.

Nope, no conflicting advice. I have been working with John a lot longer and our personal relationship is much different than with Arete. They are very different in how they relate to me, but their overall philosophy is pretty much the same. Bad guys are bad and it’s ok to defend yourself against them as brutally as necessary.
