I Think No

I am not sure why I even bother getting myself worked up over this stuff(as seen at This Ain’t hell), but what the heck is wrong with this guy? By the way, his heart, in fact, is not in the right place.

Ok, I know what is wrong with him and I know that he doesn’t give a flyin flip about what is best for your baby or mine. He wants power and control…duh, got it, not really news. What is perplexing though is how anyone would go along with it.

Lisa Paladino, of Staten Island University Hospital, said: “The key to getting more moms to breast-feed is making the formula less accessible. This way, the RN has to sign out the formula like any other medication. The nurse’s aide can’t just go grab another bottle.”

That’s the key…lying, manipulating and control. Isn’t this kind of what we try to teach children not to do?

When my son moved to Wisconsin he lived in a tiny, tiny little town that was pretty much owned by one rich guy. One day at the town hall meeting the rich man wanted the fire department to hire and fire people in a way that was not quite legal. The fire department folks said, nope. The rich guy pulled his money.

My son called me to tell me he thought the fire department was stupid and if the guy is gonna give them money then they are shooting themselves in the foot by not running things how he wanted them to. You think you raise your kids rights…

Anyway, I explain to him that people using their money to influence a situation that is illegal is not a good one and I explain to him that it is all fine and dandy when that rich guy is using his power, money and influence for things that you agree with. What happens when he comes after you? Not a good precedent to set. My son was not so much convinced.

Several months later my son had ticked off this guy somehow. Guess who my son was renting an apartment from? Guess where my son is living now? Guess how things were handled? Yeah, not quite in a way that was 100% legal. He became convinced.

When you think drinking soda is wrong and so you say, “Hey, I am all for the government coming in and regulating” or “Guns are bad, sure take them” or “Formula really is evil and all mom’s should be breastfeeding, go ahead and hide it,” You are in for a rude awakening. Let me tell you something…he is coming after you too and you better wake up America cuz it’s getting mighty commie-like round these parts.

  1. Kinda makes me want to borrow someone’s kid and walk around toting a supersized bottle of formula while I’m suckin’ on a 2-liter Mountain Dew and packin’ pistols on both hips, a thigh, an ankle, and in a Flashbang. Stupid commie toad.

I wish that more would understand that just because you don’t like something doesn’t mean it should be banned or regulated so tightly that no one should do that activity, drink/eat that food, own that item, etc. Glad that fire department stood up for what was right. Bullies should be stood up to, not bowed down to, even if it means a black eye.

    • Oh yes, that is exactly how it makes me feel. I just wanna go to stuff to piss them off which is really not like me at all…lol

  2. I have two siblings who couldn’t care less about politics. I wish I could get through to them that no matter how much they think that it’s all hopeless and throw up their hands and refuse to stay informed or do anything to change what they can in their part of the world; no matter how much the try to ignore what’s going on in this country; no matter how much they don’t care are about politics, that politics will eventually care about them and come after them.

“First they came for the communists,
    and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
    and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
    and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a Jew.

    Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.”

      • What makes it even worse is one of them actually said, “Let them kill me, I don’t care, I’m too old to fight.”

The thing is, does she really think that if she expresses that attitude that they are going to kill her? No! They’re going to kill me *in front of her* (if they can catch me ;-)). Or our mom, or her husband or son.

To paraphrase Queen Gorgo, “This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this. I am not your mommy!”

  3. Personally, I want him to keep up with the overreaching. It just shows the country what we in the gun community have been saying: it’s not about the guns, it’s about the control.

    • Here is the problem with that theory…the people don’t care.

Only something like 51% od the people in New York are upset about the soda ban. 49% or so thinks its fine and of the 51%, how many do think care enough to fight?

They don’t care and they aren’t gonna fight. The reason Bloomberg and Obama can be so bold is because they can. The president can come out and say “you didn’t make that” because most people don’t care. They will keep getting bolder and bolder because they know they can.

  4. This Nation shouldn’t BE about BANNING ANYTHING! (with some obvious exceptions – child prun, for example)
Adults should be able to make their own choices. As Katherine stated above, don’t like something, don’t buy it.

    • I agree. But I am also of the mindset that you made the choice, live with it. Smoke if you want to smoke, but don’t make me pay for your cancer treatment and don’t sue the company making the smokes and don’t try to make me stop smoking(I don’t smoke) because you got cancer.

Make a choice, live with it, leave me alone.

  5. What gets to me is they open their mouths and total whacked out garbage comes out and then there’s enough bobble heads out there that they can STILL be voted back into office.

  6. Dang, MarkOfAFreeMan beat me to it….’course I didn’t have a clue who wrote that poem or what it was called, but hey, Google can be forgiving at times. Sad thing is, though, most folks will read that and think “yeah, musta sucked to live in Germany in the mid- to late-30’s”, and refuse to see that its happening right here at home.

Seems like the loud, outspoken (annoying) minority want everyone to think like they do….”I don’t like formula, so nobody should be able to use it”. “I think guns are dangerous, so no law-abiding citizen should be able to own one” (they’ve never explained how they’re going to keep guns out of the hands of criminals, who could care less about laws). Seriously? If you don’t like something, that’s fine. You have a right to that belief. But don’t expect everyone else to get down on their knees before you and beg forgiveness and worship your every whim. I don’t care for tomatoes, mushrooms, or spinach, but I’m not about to start demanding that restaurants take them off the menu.

Just my opinion, but I believe we’re seeing the results of the “me” generation, the “everybody’s a winner” crowd. The sad part is, there are people who listen to them whine.

    • What?? You don’t like tomatoes, mushrooms or spinach…we need some kind of blog regulation that says you have to eat those vegetables in order to post.

  7. I know this is preaching to the choir….but still. I don’t get it…I really don’t. Today, no matter where you go or do there is always some clown trying to either outright control what you do. I really have a problem with the medical community as a whole. Who the hell died and made them god as far as the rights of a mother to either nurse or bottle feed her kid? Then we have the thing with smoking. Look, it is my life and I will damm well do as I please with it. Kind of like going into a repair shop to have a brake job and the mechanic starts preaching to you about waiting too long for an oil change. Ever notice of late that if you’re a senior citizen the medics and hospital are in no hurry to take care of you. Then we have those who are so damm indoctrinated they believe the government is always right. Be that gun control or limiting what you say if you are near some area where some damm politician is going to speak. Grrrrrrr……

  8. Hmm … I’d like to see Mr. Bloomberg breastfeed a couple of babies before he knocks formula. On the list of issues we need to worry about with babies in our community, I think formula should be pretty far down the line. And, for the record, I breastfeed twins with no formula. But anything that gets headlines is good for him, I guess.

  9. You’re onto something, girl.

and it segues so nicely into my Monday meat rant. 🙂

    XOXO
    Thanks for the link.
